In 1943, Hamilton try his luck at furniture manufacturing in America. 24 chairs were produced each day. The hammary furniture company derived its name from Hamilton (Ham) and his wife, Mary (mary), therefore Hammary. Late in 1947, Mr. Hamilton began to manufacture a series of occasional tables. In 1948, the company started making mahogany and gum tables featuring leather and mahogany tops, shifting the next year to leather tops with authentic Honduras mahogany.

Hammary Furniture

In October 1943, later than eight years working with furniture makers in the Carolinas and Virginia as a sales agent of the Reliance Varnish Company and Central Glass Company, Hamilton Louden Bruce decided to try his hand at furniture manufacturing.
